Common Table at Valero Street

This restaurant is probably a minute or two away from where I live but its only recently that I finally tried their menu. Perhaps because its so near I didn't find it as enticing as one that will take me an hour to go to.

Common Table is located at the 2nd Floor of Forbes Tower in Valero Street, Salcedo Village, Makati.

The space used to be occupied by Project Pie which I would patronise once in a while. I don't think this franchise is still operational in Manila.

The interior of Common Table follows the trend of going industrial. Concrete and stone is combined with wood and steel to exude that oversaturated minimalist vibe.

I like the neatly organised shelves of wine bottles and boxes facing the entrance.

En route to the second floor is a mural of people having a meal together. I recognise Don Corleone but not the others who could either be personalities or the owners.

The long rectangular high table by the entrance is more appealing to me rather than the normal square ones.

An alfresco section has been added so I could bring my dog Lilli.

There's no available fan, however, so that can be a concern.

During my first visit, I had the Common Table Caesar Salad - " romaine, parmesan, bacon, caesar dressing ".

It was quite good and didn't really deviate from the traditional recipe.

Mustard Fried Chicken - " crispy chicken, onions, coleslaw, fries, chili, spiced honey ".

I like the presentation with fries and whole chili peppers.

It was good but I was not tasting anything with mustard. Nonetheless, I was satisfied with the moist and well-seasoned chicken pieces.

Common Table joined the Deal Grocer app and was offering a particular dish at a decent discount. Of course, I availed.

For my starter, I had the Truffle Mushroom Soup - " truffle foam, sauteed mushrooms ".

The soup was really delicious with the aromatic truffle essence and tasty mushroom bits.

This is the Grand Platter that I availed from Deal Grocer. The presentation is impressive and targets the after work crowd to pair with their alcoholic beverage of choice.

Savoury Cauliflower.

I'm dabbling in trying out the Ketogenic Diet and I think this meal is loosely adhering to the regimen. A lot of fat is supposedly good like liempo, lechon, steak, kare kare and chicken. I think I will like this diet.


Cost of Meal : P 882.32 during my first visit & for the Deal Grocer voucher, it was P 515.00 while the mushroom soup cost P 348.57
